Indonesian dangdut artist and Trio Macan member Chacha Sherly has died at the age of 29 after a traffic accident.

Sherly – real name Yuselly Agus Stevi – passed away on Tuesday, December 5 following her involvement in an accident the day before. Per a Coconuts Jakarta report, the accident involved at least seven vehicles, four of which had already piled up prior to Sherly’s car swerving into another lane to avoid a collision.

A bus ran into her car, injuring both Sherly and her driver. Sherly sustained injuries to her head, which reportedly caused her to lose consciousness following the impact.

Per Coconuts, Sherly was buried in her hometown of Sidoarjo, East Java on Tuesday. The police is still reportedly investigating the cause of the accident, although it was noted that the roads were slippery at the time of incident due to rain.

Prior to her passing, Sherly was a member of popular dangdut group, Trio Macan – also known as The Tiger Trio – from 2011 till 2019. The group split in 2019 after their contracts had expired, and Sherly carried on with a solo career. Sherly’s last official release was ‘Ora Nduwe Duit Ora Nduwe Yang’, released last December.
